Korean beauty has had a huge influence on western launches over the last few years, and it's not stopping anytime soon. From the initial wave of BB and CC creams, to boosting serums, sheet masks, cushion foundations and prepping lotions, we have them to thank for much of our new purchases over the last twelve months or so. Although a lot of their most popular trends don't really translate to the UK (I'm talking about limp plumping gadgets and hair clips that hold actual plants!) one trend I think is going to be pretty big this year hails originally from their shores. Nails have been a bit of a boring category over the last few years, with the extremes of nude and berry tones taking the most coveted colour position, so it's about time we saw something new. Similarly, nail art has been on the down-low after a few years of taking prominence; we've had statement nails, cracked polish, ombre art and glittery tips, but nothing innovative for quite some time. One of the predictions for 2016 is that 'shattered glass' nails are going to be huge news - and Kure Bazaar have nailed (sorry) that trend with the launch of these limited edition nail decals.

Although the 'official' look is created using sections of cellophane (see different incarnations of the trend here,) Kure Bazaar have made it incredibly easy to apply and even easier to wear. These limited edition decals are part of a three piece collection, designed in collaboration with a French designer, and nod perfectly to the trend without being OTT. Each pack contains two strips of eight individual sticker strips, which are removed from the mount and stuck on direct to the nail; you can easily cut down or file away the excess to ensure a perfectly fitted design, smoothing the tacky surface for a long-lasting result.
It's no secret that I've never been a fan of nail decals (they last about an hour before they fall, peel or catch off my hands,) but these have totally changed my mind. I applied them just so I could take some photos, thoroughly expecting them to last as long as my previous attempts - but three days later they were still going strong. Incredibly the decals stayed put through three days of typing, washing up, bathing and applying numerous rounds of hand cream; that's staying power. Eventually I had to remove them with nail varnish remover (which is incredibly quick and easy to do, just like normal polish) so I could apply a different colour. I don't know what's in the adhesive to make these stick without ruining the nail, but I like it!
The 'shattered glass' trend is sure to gain pace in the next few months, with the likes of Barry M and Models Own surely launching their own interpretations, but this is a great way to test drive it without the commitment of hours cutting out bits of reflective plastic. If you don't want to embrace the whole trend straight away, these also look good as a statement nail or two - or over a coloured base polish. I'm a bit of a convert to decals after this experience, so I hope Kure Bazaar keep launching new designs that I know I can rely on to work; so many other brands end up being a total waste of money if they only last one night, but these provide a great experience without costing a fortune.
