The Perfect Nail Polish Taster: Olivia Palermo For Ciate London Fashion Edit

There's nothing worse than yet *another* celebrity collaboration that transpires to be little more than a name slapped on a box. However, when Ciate London announced that Olivia Palermo was undertaking a 'Guest Creative Director' role within the brand, you knew that this was going to be a force to be reckoned with. The last six months have seen genuinely beautiful creations hit stores and completely sell out; everything Olivia puts her name to has been crafted with love, care and attention - including her capsule selection of nail polishes. I can unreservedly state they're some of my favourites, with each polish being formulated with 'dual polymer mesh lock technology' to provide long lasting colour, durability and high-shine. Just in time for Christmas (clever that!) Ciate and Olivia have created the perfect mini edit of some of the shades, all wrapped up in a gift-worthy box; not only is this a great way to dabble in the collaboration if you've been meaning to for a while, but at £25.00 it's an affordable indulgence too.

This 'Fashion Edit' includes a selection of shades that Olivia has hand-picked to capture the essence of each of the four Fashion Weeks. From a pop red statement at the New York shows, a deep purple for the London FROW, a Bordeaux red in time for Paris couture and rounding off show season in Milan with a powdery pink, all four are incredibly wearable. Volcanic glass provides natural cushioning and strength during application, while shellac helps protect and defend nails over a number of days; the result is a polish that glides over the nail effortlessly to leave a perfect 'just stepped out of the nail salon' look. The brush, as always, is a little larger and flatter than you usually get with nail polishes, ensuring it's simple to apply and doesn't get your nail in a mess. The polish is richly pigmented and incredibly shiny, providing a fabulous finish in only two coats.

The single Olivia Palermo polishes will set you back £17.00 each (more than a little expensive in comparison to your usual £3.99 Barry M!) but this set provides a much more affordable way to put them to the test. At £25.00 for four mini polishes, you can benefit from the beautiful finish and long-lasting result, without having to invest a small fortune in your collection. What's even better is that they're housed in the perfect box, so you don't even have to bother with wrapping if you want to share the fabulousness with a loved one. Although the round box is a nightmare to photograph (blogger problems,) I adore the ornate golden pattern and pop of colour - as soon as I was handed this box I cooed over it with excitement. Well done Ciate, you've done it again...

Have you tried the Olivia Palermo polishes? What do you think of this mini selection alternative?
