Over 50,000 women and around 350 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, making it the most common cancer in the UK. One woman in eight will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, with around 12,000 women and 80 men dying from breast cancer each year. Although more people are surviving breast cancer than ever before, it's still the second biggest cause of death from cancer in women. It's estimated that over 80% of breast cancer sufferers survive five years after diagnosis, but 40 years ago the five year survival rate was around 50%. Although that's an improvement and has had a huge impact on thousands of women (and their families,) we can do better. People are surviving longer thanks to advances in research new treatments, earlier diagnosis, breast screening and breast cancer awareness, but without essential fundraising this simply wouldn't be possible. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and hundreds of brands are jumping on the pink bandwagon in an attempt to both raise awareness and funds for the UK's charities, support networks and research facilities. However, every year Clinique are one of the ones that do it perfectly - launching desirable and practical products that help raise essential funds simultaneously. Here's the lowdown on 2015's offering and why you need to pink up some pink this October.

This Autumn season the much loved Cheek Pops are getting a breast cancer makeover; this limited edition pink shade simply called 'Pink With A Purpose' (£17.50) provides sheer coverage with a vibrant pop of colour. The lavishly silky formula effortlessly creates a natural blush look , thanks to the intense pigment that glides over the surface of skin; I use one of the existing shades of Cheek Pops almost daily, so this is a welcome addition to my collection. Housed in a special edition pink mini cosmetic carrying pouch so you can take it with you wherever you go, the embossed pink ribbon is the perfect way to celebrate Estee Lauder Companies’ continued support for the cause.
If makeup isn't your thing, then a pink ribbon adorned skincare favourite may be right up your street. The world famous Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ combines all day hydration with skin strengthening ingredients to help skin look fresh and glowing; not only does the pink ribbon on the bottle add a little something extra, but it comes complete with a Clinique signature pink ribbon key chain. Although I don't personally get on with the formula (it's a bit too heavy for me and doesn't absorb fully before I need to apply my makeup,) it's been a best seller for generations - proving the demand isn't going anywhere fast. Plus the super cute conversation-starting key chain is worth treating yourself for! Priced £38.00, it's exclusive to www.clinique.co.uk - so get thee over to the website to grab yours before they're gone. It's a great way to support a vital cause while updating your beauty portfolio.
Will you be making a donation to breast cancer charities this October, or picking up any pink products to show your support? Do you like the look of these Clinique offerings?
