As I get older, the one area I've become incredibly concerned with is my under-eye circles and fine lines, protruding like a map of times past. Although I religiously apply eye cream every morning, there's only so much you can do to delay the invitable signs of age - but these seven products certainly give me a helping hand. Between them they cool, tighten, soothe, hydrate and reflect the light to diminish telling dark circles as much as possible and help me look wide awake. Although none of these are miracle formulas or provide a long-term cosmetic result, they are great products that I enjoy using and provide me with a little morning lift. When you wake up with giant black suitcases under each eye, then that's a saving grace you're willing to invest in. Here are some of my favourite eye creams that I'm currently reaching for on a daily basis...

1. Super Facialist By Una Brennan: Vitamic C Brighten Eye Cream (£12.99)
Stimulating caffeine and a proven anti-dark circle peptide combine to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, while ensuring eyes are brightened almost immediately. The formula contains brightening Vitamin C and light diffusers to target dark circles, giving the delicate skin around the eye a little boost. The texture is rich without being heavy, sinking into skin to leave eyes ready for a little concealer in a few seconds - I hate formulas that take an age to sink in, so this is a great morning accompaniment.
2. La Roche-Posay: Toleraine Ultra Eye Cream (£17.50)
This new La Roche-Posay range provides relief from the discomfort associated with intolerant or sensitive skin, thanks to the product’s limited ingredients. Enriched with Neurosensine, Glycerine and Shea Butter, as well as the spring water used throughout the LRP range, this is a simple product that focuses on hydrating the eye area without overloading it. It's a great daily eye cream for when my skin is looking pretty good and doesn't need much else, making it easy to integrate into any routine and combine with any other product. I've no doubt this will be a future classic.
3. SkinCeuticals: Aox Eye Gel (£58.49)
A breakthrough serum-in-a-gel formula, this pricey pot contains an antioxidant combination to help protect the delicate eye area from oxidative stress, while targeted actives revive under-eye skin and reduce the appearance of puffiness. Essentially this is a mini facial treatment in a lightweight gel, providing a serious helping hand to eyes when I've had little-to-no sleep. It's not something I would use every day, but it's a great tool every few weeks - especially if I'm working from home and can lather this on and let it get to work.
4. Time Bomb: Black Ops Dark Circle Rescue (£36.00)
I've sung the praises of this eye cream before, but it really is a good nights sleep in a bottle. It lightens, brightens, tightens and reflects the light, helping to target the real issues we tackle on a daily basis. Not only does it contain caffeine to stimulate and Omega-3 fatty acids to improve skin quality, but an anti-inflammatory to reduce puffiness. I'd forgotten how good this was until I turned to it for a helping hand a few weeks ago; now it's firmly back in my 'favourites' category.
5. Philosophy: Renewed Hope In A Jar Eye (£29.50)
The clinical trials of this product speak for themselves: 100% of women putting it to the test saw an improvement in a week. I used it continually for a four week period and my eyes started to look brighter, the skin started to feel smoother and I definitely felt like it was gradually turning back the clock. The lightweight 'whipped' texture is such a pleasure to apply, absorbing fully within a few seconds to leave you with plenty of time to apply makeup. It's no surprise I've nearly come to the end of this little pot in only a couple of months.
6. The Body Shop: Eyes Cube (£8.00)
Enriched with wheatgerm oil, one of the highest natural sources of vitamin E, this super cute Eyes Cube protects the eye area with moisture and instantly cools. Although there's no long-term benefits, it's a great morning 'pick me up' and provides the eye area with a non-sticky texture. I've taken to applying this before eye cream or using it as a mid-afternoon treat for tired eyes; it's perfectly sized for popping in your bag too. As it's limited edition, you do need to nab one while you can though!
7. Origins: No Puffery Cooling Roll-On (£24.00)
This genius little product has won the InStyle Best Beauty Buy award for two years in a row, and it's no surprise why. Featuring a metallic rollerball applicator, the effect is instantly cooling and refreshing - great for waking you up in the morning. The gel formula is easily absorbed and works to hydrate skin, while lifting under-eye circles and helping to brighten the whole area. Although this doesn't tackle fine lines or serious dark bags, it's a great product to have within your reportoire - especially as we step into spring and holiday season.
