Babyliss Diamond Straightener: Smooth, Soft, Healthy Looking Hair In A Jiffy

Hair straighteners are ten a penny, often promising to give you the hair of your dreams but totally under-delivering. In the noughties we became obsessed with tools that offered as much heat as possible, forgetting that we also need to look after our hair while we style it; I for one have totally frizzed and burned sections of my barnet while attempting to create the perfect finish. However, the BaByliss Diamond Straightener claims to offer salon performance and a 'new level of shine' thanks to their diamond infused ceramic plates which not only provide a super smooth finish, but leave hair looking healthier, smoother and feeling silky soft.

The sleek and lightweight design makes the straighteners easy to use and manoeuvre; there's no heavy handed styling or arm ache halfway around your head. The controls are simplistic and designed so you can get the most out of the tool without overdoing it, thanks to three heat settings that reach up to 235 degrees within seconds. Although the heat is super powerful, it doesn't feel like it damages your hair - the plates glide over the surface with ease to leave each strand straightened without removing all movement or natural bounce.

The plates also feature an 'ionic generator' which creates a lot of negative ions to calm frizz and close the cuticle to create ultimate shine. Static and frizz is a result of particles becoming unbalanced and positively charged due to pollution, heat and the atmosphere; the individual hairs repel one another or the cuticle opens as a result. The BaByliss ionic system enables the atoms in the hair to be re-balanced (adding a negative ion to a positive makes it neutral) and therefore flattening the cuticle, smoothing the hair reflecting the light for a super shiny result. With 90%* more ions than the best selling BaByliss straightener the enhanced level of ions released by the active ionic conditioners help eliminate frizz and leave hair looking healthy.

As someone with hair extensions, these straighteners even glide through big chunky sections with ease and leave my hair looking and feeling incredible. A lot of straighteners remove too much goodness as they get to work, thanks to the damaging heat, but these definitely make a difference to the overall style and feel of my hair after use - so much so that I'm more confident in wearing my hair straight, rather than continually adding a touch of curl. However, the Diamond Straightener has also been specially crafted with a 'curved housing design', making it the ideal tool for curling or creating waves too! There's no snagging, tearing or awkward moments trying to release a trapped hair from the edge of a plate; the tool simply glides over hair to leave it looking fabulous.

I really love the look of these slightly sparkly straighteners, the fact they're easy to use and that they glide over hair with ease. I don't have to spend an absolute age on my hair every morning as these do speed things up to leave my style looking fabulous with an awesome soft feeling that has me continually touching the ends. If you're in the market for a new pair of straighteners and are a little intimidated by some of the more expensive brands and their super-charged heat offerings, then BaByliss offer an affordable alternative that doesn't scrimp on performance.

The BaByliss Diamond Straightener is available online, priced £79.99 (but it's currently half price in Argos!)
